Robert Zheng is associated with the Draper Visual Arts Foundation, a local organization in Utah that supports and promotes visual arts. Zheng draws significant inspiration from the natural world. He enjoys hiking in the Utah mountains and photographing the scenery, which often translates into his paintings that aim to capture the beauty of nature. Outside of his art, Zheng is a Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Utah. His academic research focuses on areas such as cognition and computer-based education.
